My work...

Yesterday Mich posted a photo of a very cute reindeer card and we do a very similar thing at work. I thought I'd take a photo to show you, and then I thought I'd take a few more photos of some of the children's art work before we take it all down for the year. I asked the kids if I could put it on my blog (having explained what a blog is) and they all thought that was pretty cool - and I found out that one of them has a blog, however her Mum writes it all in Korean, no good to me then lol!

The reindeer picture is hand and foot prints -then the kids took them out to where we have glue guns set up and glued on eyes and a nose. Very teacher directed because we told them what to do - and that's not something we do too often, we like them to explore their own creativity - however we wanted these simply because it's Christmas and they're very cute! The kids and their families loved them.

The Picasso heads came about because one of the teacher's had been to Europe and one of the things she brought back was this very cool glass head in the style of one of Picasso's famous faces. She brought it into work as a procovation for the children's learning.

We have a very cool castle at work that one of our Dad's made for us - the dragon pictures came from that. Over time we've purchased quite a number of characters to go with the castle and one of the kids decided to draw one of the dragons, and this started a whole group off doing this.

The other picture is that of a child's view of how a Christmas tree looks.

All of these pictures except the reindeer are black ink and dye. I choose those ones, because they photograph so well! Hope you enjoy this little snippet into my working world.

Just love the artwork Trace, I am one of those nosy mums at kindy who stares at the walls looking at all the art lol!!! Great idea also to record how small the wee hands and feet were at the time!!

Wow Trace what amazing drawers you have at your Kindy. I also love to spy all the art at my Oli's kindy. I love the simple purity of little kids art. I now teach yr 6 and they become so self conscious about getting it right. Which is really so sad when you (kindy teachers) are so good at finding the inner creativity of kids. They need to be reminded that you are never wrong in the art world. have happy holidays and a peaceful break xx

Wow, Trace, these are really very impressive for pre-schoolers.

(LOL, even more impressive finally getting to see them as all I got yesterday when I tried to view them was white boxes with a red cross in them (: Think that is us not having enough juice at this end to view them.)

Hey, enjoy your well deserved break now! :)
