With Mother Nature following the normal earthquake path, so that we still get wobbles, but not like we were, we thought it about time we finally started making this house our home.  That means a paint job, new carpet (not quite yet but around the end of the year I'd say), and a new colour scheme in the kitchen.

As we've started with the painting, the odd bit of carpet has been lifted and we have found these wee babies.  Am a bit scared to lift more carpet LOL because those babies look like they lead somewhere, but we have to once the builder comes to do a builders report on the actual damage and whether it's actually earthquake related.  Anyway, what will be, will be.

Part of doing up the house also involves buying a new couch.  We have been searching for a few months for just the right one.  I find one I like, but really the eight thousand dollar price tag is a bit off putting :-)  then Lyall finds one he likes, but it's not what I like...You get the picture.  Well today, finally we found one we both like and within our budget.  Yehaa!  I did suggest we wait till the paintings done, but oh no, my hubby wants it like yesterday...

See all those animals?  Well they are just a snippet of the pets who came to kindergarten on Friday for pet day.  I'm not sure why we thought it would be a good idea to have three and four year olds accompained by their four legged, feathered or scaly friends...I'm also not sure if the dogs or the kids enjoyed it more!  While it was organised chaos, it really was a lot of fun for the families and for the pets.

This is another layout for Project Life.

You know you live in the country when your friends stop in to show you their new horse.  Their new horse that they picked up for twenty dollars at the local pound because it had been found wandering, had been advertised and has been at the pound for a month.  He's a whole 34inches high.  Super cute.

Have a fantastic week people.

The Festival Of Flowers.

Aren't they just gorgeous?  This weekend we've been out visiting the Festival of Flowers and Chinese New  Year.  I guess they don't call Christchurch the Garden City for nothing...

Of course being Christchurh and all, the portaloo's couldn't miss out on the action :-) Some of them sure have had a fair bit of work put into them.

And of course I couldn't walk past this guy without taking a photo for a certain giraffe mad person...you know who you are!

Now this was one cool lion.  He would flutter those gorgeous eyes of his, and wink at the odd person.  Very cute.  And even funnier was that on the way out of the gardens we caught up with the lads who had done the lion dance and they were taking photos of the lion 'eating' the topiary penguins.  I guess you had to be there...LOL.

And finally, a layout from me.  This one is for Project Life, all about my Friday dog walking with Vicki and Brody.  It also met Mandy's PL page on Facebook in which you had to do a layout featuring a photo of yourself.

Have a great week everyone

This year in Project Life, I want to throw in a few layouts. I've seen a few people do this, and I rather like it :-) For those who don't know, pretty much every Friday afternoon, Vicki and I catch up and give the dogs a walk. It's one of my favourite times of the week, and I wanted to record it. Have you ever tried to get a photo of four energetic dogs and two people? Not easy lol. Still it's about capturing life as it is, not the posed version. So here we were on Friday... Gotta love how Darcy cools down her belly and has a drink at the same time, great at multi tasking that dog!
A couple of weeks ago, when I last blogged, I told you I was putting together a mini album. Well it's not finished, but here's the proof that I am doing it lol. Now hop back on your chairs....(having fallen off in shock ;-)
I have two of these wee ones at my house - one hatched on Mandy's birthday (Wednesday), the next one on Friday and there is one pipping at the moment. I held the shell this morning and could feel it moving around. Weird feeling, something moving inside an egg...
Hope they are all girls. Odds are they won't be lol, but one can hope! Have a fab week.
