There's the cat amongst the grapevines, at the moment she likes it there because it's shady and cool - in a few more weeks the birds will start visiting to have a wee munch on the grapes - hope she still likes it then, she'll come in handy for keeping them away!
The food etc on the bench, well that's all the lovely presents from the families at work. Not counting the nine boxes of chocolates in the freezer at work. We will slowly make our way through them on the wet days LOL.
When us cousins (there are eight of us altogether) were younger, my lovely Nana offered to make us all something (she was very handy and crafty, baked, knitted, sewed, etc). She was usually busy making something for the community - she was a great organiser and fundraiser. Anyway I chose a nativity scene and this is it here. Due to it coming out only once a year, and not being something you played with, it stills looks as good as the day she made it. I really treasure it, especially as she is no longer here. I'm the only one who still has what Nana made as the rest opted for toys of one description or another and of course they were well loved and as they looked a little worse for wear were thrown out - something their owners now regret.
I live on the Pohutakawa Coast, so just had to slip a photo of our lovely NZ Christmas tree in.
And of course there's Milo out walking...
Couple of very quick layouts - one was the Friday night challenge over at sketchbook and the other a page in my BOM. Am hoping to get stuck in and get the rest done now that I'm on holiday.
So there I was, lying out on the deck, taking in a few rays when my darling husband comes along, leans over me and says 'OMG, you are so grey' Thanks Honey, you sure know how to make a girls day...so today I've been down to the hairdresser rectifying that we issue! He said, why don't you try going darker...so I said, do you want to pay for me to go the hairdresser every three weeks so that you don't see those grey hairs...ah no he replied. That's why I stay blonde...the grey kind of blends in...kind of! Anyway enough of that.
Bliss is how I would explain this morning. When I went to bed last night, Thomas the tank engine was snoring away next to me. His mate Henry the labrador dog engine was on the floor snoring away. I chose to sleep in another bed. I had the best sleep ever. I woke up at the usual early hour but then I lay in bed and read. A whole book. Two hours later I hopped out of bed. Now that's being on holiday.
Enjoy your few days in the lead up to Christmas. And twinnie, you've just really burst my bubble, I was so sure Santa was real...LOL!

I just can't get over how many boxes of choccies you guys get! I suppose it comes with the territory ;-) Great idea to put them in the freezer for a rainy day.
I just LOVE that nativity scene, how precious for you to have something that your Nana made you, and to have preserved it so well. It's a real treasure.
awesome collection of piccies there.... how did you get the neat collage going on?
I agree with Hannah... the nativity scene is fantastic and only the more precious because your nana made it for you!
Have a truly wonderful and relaxed christmas - look forward to catching up again in cyberland :)
Love the pic of you cat in the grapevines and Milo on his walk and pohutakawa would have to be one of my favourite things about Christmas. Sounds like you holiday has got off to a wonderful start! Absolute bliss waking early and reading in bed!
Awww cripes (would say something stronger here but am starting early on a New Years thing about swearing) - I really thought at your age you would know about Santa but perhaps you and Angelgurl better get together cos she's not happy with me either! Am soooo sorry to have popped your bubble!
Nothing wrong with lying in bed reading for a couple of hours - enjoy your holiday cos next year sounds like a busy one for you and Lyall.
cute pics.... and am with you on the chocolates.... as for the knitted nativity scene I have just put an order in for one as they are SO SO cute.... enjoy the holidays
Love your photos...and isn't Mike an absolute 'dear' to point out your grey hair!!!COUGH, COUGH, SPLUTTER!!!
what a lovely Xmas pressie ... no wonder you choose to sleep elsewhere!!LOL ... I always get a much better nights sleep when I have the bed to myself too ...
I love your nativity scene - so very special, it caught my eye straight away.
Love the pic of your cat in the grape vine too.
Lol at the twin engines! Glad you had a great sleep too
I told your twinny that she stomped on my bubble with that clanger of news that Santa was not real. I feel the same way about things that have come from my grandparents, they means so much more now they have passed on. Love the nic names for dh and Milo, good on you for sleeping in another bed.
Really love your photo collage, Trace, and I especially enjoyed seeing and reading about your extra special Nativity scene - what a treasure.
Am also jealous that you live on the Pohutukawa Coast, lol. It's my all time favourite tree out of all the natives and exotics.
Haha, recently have had both hubby and the kids pointing out my 'greys'. Meh - a long way to catch up to hubby though, haha.
Wishing you and yours an awesome Christmas and 2009 :)
Merry Xmas Trace and to Lyall as well, I have started reading books again and it is truly an awesome way to relax!!
