What a stunning weekend it’s been weather wise. Putting on the BBQ for dinner tonight. Yesterday morning we had a couple come through the house – they both really liked it, but (there’s always a but!) are going to be purchasing and living with her parents (she and the parents are British), the guy is a Kiwi. The parents don’t arrive over here until the 5th of January – so we’ll see what happens in that respect. And just think, if it doesn’t sell…well there’s somewhere for those of you coming up to SENZ to stay if you want!
After they left I said to Donna and Lyall that I was going to go and hang out at a shopping mall. I have hayfever something chronic this year and figured that there would be no privet and other stuff floating around in the mall, and I needed a break from the constantly itchy eyes, throat and ears. Off to the mall went Donna and I, leaving my DH at home. We wandered around for a bit, before heading to Woolworths to do a bit of shopping, and here we did our good deed for the day…as we left the checkout Donna noticed one of the Woolworths staff on a chair, and it kind of didn’t look right. That’s ‘cos the girl was unconscious. So we did our first aid stuff and sent her off in an ambulance.
Today, I’ve done a bit of online shopping….finished a layout (but can’t show you yet!)…made a few more Christmas cards…put up the Christmas tree and wait for it…went for a face painting lesson! At the end of every term we spend a day face painting the kids – which of course they absolutely love – but I’ve wanted to learn how to do it properly and today was the day. I got a lot of great advice and a couple of great models (a brother and sister who I’ve taught at Kindergarten), so it was a lot of fun. Now I wonder if the parents would mind if I practiced on the kids for the next three weeks LOL! Shame there’s a hundred and one other jobs to do and that I can’t just sit there and paint faces! But if you think our addiction is an expensive one, then believe me, face painting is up there with it in terms of cost. The good quality face paints don’t come cheap.
Well my friends enjoy the rest of your week…and may the couriers drive fast this week as I know I’m not the only one waiting for a delivery LOL!

wowsa that is one crazy weekend... good on you for the first aid part... bet she is glad you did!!!! as for the face painting thing.... I have a book with all the pics that i have ever done... keep adding to it... also know what you mean about the paints.... cheaper ones are so bad and that's what the children always react too!!!!
LOL - yip will be excited to see Mr Courier on tuesday, then hope to have a play with all my gorgeous new flowers!! :)
What a weekend you've had! I've been pulling that darn privet out at our rental property, not affected by it myself, but feel for the people who are. Gosh, lucky you were there to help that girl, wonder how long she would have sat before someone noticed!
Yes, I agree, face painting is great, even better when they are done 'properly', so effective.
I've been so good, not buying anything online, but hope the courier comes fast for you!
well your weekend was full of a little bit of everything, suspense(waiting for the courier), dramatic and life saving (doing your first aid gig at the supermarket), creative (face painting). Hope the deal goes through and that the couple who came to see it end up buying it.
That girl is lucky that you were there and knew what to do. I hope she is okay now.
My hayfever has been AWFUL lately, so I really do feel your pain! Seems much worse this year, for some reason ... probably the worst I've had in about 4 years.
Hey twinnie - another hayfever sufferer here too. Just starting up for me now though so don't know whats setting it off. Am expecting a couple of deliveries this week too. How exciting.
Hey Trace
Well I must be your and Vicki's triplet. Had terrible hayfever this spring on and off - the worst year for some time.
I don't take anti-histimines (sp?) because they make be feel worse and sprays are a waste of time too.
What I have chanced upon this year is this pump system where you make up satchets of this saline solution and use it to clear out your sinuses. It is absolutely brilliant and has given me so much relief. Guess it is the equivalent of going for a swim in saltwater/the sea. Everyone I've recommended it to has been rapt with it. If you are interested, your chemist/GP will know about it (if they haven't told you already).
Apart from the hayfever your weekend sounds lovely.
I've been suffering w hayfever almost constantly for three weeks now ... I am soooo over it!! commiserations!! WTG on doing the first aid thing at Woolworths ... I hope the girl's ok!
Wow! that was a scary but brilliant thing you did at teh mall. Well done!!
Also waiting for a courier.... shhh, don't tell hubby!! LOL
Feel better with the hayfever soon.
Sounds like fun. I am also waiting for a parcel to arrive
Not waiting on any parcels here ... I did enough shopping at SENZ and Aus to last me a while yet! Ugg at hayfever ... great idea to hang out at the mall ... good thing you were there at the right time and place to help out. So what did you learn at the face painting thing? I seem to have drawn the short straw and will be face painting 60 pre-schoolers at playgroup next week.
