Is anybody out there...

I guess some of you are, but there's a lot living it up at the various retreat's going on around the country right now. Wonder if there's any product left, or if they've shopped them dry LOL!

Right finally I'm back online, boy it's only been a week, but what a week it's been! So as you know last weekend was spent packing everything up so that we could get the carpet down this week, and amongst that happening my friend Fleur sent a txt to say she was in labour. Come Tuesday she'd had an emergency c section and there's a new healthy baby girl in the world (as yet unamed). I also got a txt from Roo to say she was up in Auckland hospital. It was also committee meeting night at work. So I gave apologies to the committee. Went and met the lovely Roo. And have yet to see the new baby LOL. I know Fleur is inundated with visitors so we will catch up soon and I'm to bring my camera apparently and do a photo shoot - that should be easy, she's a newborn, she can't move LOL!

Wednesday after work was another work meeting with some politicians. I argued with the one from ACT. Ha ha, he was not impressed. My colleagues were. Give me a subject I'm passionate about and I can articulate it well, stupid man! He said all the best teacher's have left and gone overseas, ummm so who are the people in this room then?? (We were primary and ECE). Their policy on education is a shocker and when I started pointing out the pitfalls and trying to get him to justify some of it, he didn't like it. Welcome to politics mate. Arrgh it's still making me rant! Sorry if your reading this and are a supporter of the ACT party... And then lucky me got to sleep on the couch while Lyall was on the airbed (one couch was far easier to shift in the morning than the few people we had to borrow to shift our bed). I tried to sleep on the airbed but when the dog also hopped on and then the cat hopped in and then the husband started snoring, well I shifted. Trouble is we have three couches and they are all two and a half seaters. Picture me really curled up...

Thursday was the big day, Lyall had his surgery. Half the carpet was in. But my bed was back LOL. Just a lot of running around day. Friday I'd booked to have the day off work. Someone has to keep my husband in line, otherwise he'd be out shifting furniture. Lucky for us we have some great friends, and one in particular - Grant - took the day off and came and gave us a hand to move stuff around. Hence I have my computer set up again. I also managed to get the groceries done, clean some of the house and catch up with Roo again. Roo got the wonderful news that they were letting her home and she will be waking up this morning in her own bed. Wahoo! She also sent me home with magazines. Double wahoo!

So there you go that's my busy week in a nutshell. It will be a quiet few weeks on the scrapping front, as I know where all my stash is I haven't quite figured out how to keep it hidden but still functional...and it's still in boxes. Some of it is going to remain so...LOL.

And Trina, I can't believe you put my blog in the SBO ezine, talk about making me laugh..and swear LOL! The pressure, the pressure...Because I don't know how much information is too much and I don't want to bore the living dalylights out of you all, any questions on your preschooler's behaviour, how they learn, why they go upside down on the couch... email me and I'll do my best to answer, that way at least your getting what you want to know. Oh and I won't use your names, the kids and parents in question shall remain anon. I could be like MoreFM in the morning...all woman are Sue and all men are Bob LOL!

Have a great weekend people, I'm off to get a few things shopping (like curtains and other house stuff) and then best I organise some scrapping supplies. Enjoy.

Nice reading, Trace!New carpet sounds good, but not hiding scrapping supplies. Some politicians really don't think before they open their mouths

Lyall, do as Nurse Trace says, no lifting, pushing or ... [better not put that ... it might sound rude - ROFLMAO] ... but you know I mean well.

Trace ... better hide those scrapping supplies a little better ... lol.

It sure has been one of those weeks for you then. Hope Lyall is doing as he's told. Would love to have been a fly on the wall at your meeting with the politician - I wonder if he got your point! LOL

I am here too and whoo hoot at being mentioned by Trina as being an interesting blog to read. I agree. Oh don't you love new carpet, it just feels so much better. Good on you for sticking up for teachers left in NZ and challenging them on thier policies. I am not an ACT fan at all, full stop. Lyall, hope you listen to nurse Trace. BTW I loved how you were the Jackee for this months Jack Me Up competition.

Oh Trace, we sure did miss you at the retreat! But I hope that Lyall's surgery went well - and good on you for being such a good nurse, to him and to Roo! :-)

GO YOU on sticking it to the politician!!

Lots to catch up on and a great read.

You are a treasure, Trace - the way you were there for Roo.

Hope Lyall is on the up and up.

And MEH politicians. What's that saying from the '60s? Something like "The only person to ever enter parliament with honest intentions was Guy Fawkes" Hahahaha
