Yes I'm finally back on here...The last week has been a busy one, and with such an inclement interent server, when I did go to post, the satellite thingy wasn't playing the game lol. Add into that all the flippin' washing - it seemed never ending this week, and the time has just flown past.
Last Wednesday saw me out at the airport dropping our old neighbours and good friends from Auckland, back on a plane to head north so they could pack as they have been down here house hunting. Chrissie and Katie that is - Mike and Johnny stayed in Auckland. After much searching and umming and arring (as you do!) a lovely house was purchased, and they will now be about eight minutes drive away from us, in Cust. I loved that Chrissie said "great, now we'll be close to family again" meaning us. We are all looking forward to having them back in this neck of the woods (they were originally from Oxford, which is about twenty minutes away from us). So roll on April the 16th - that's when we'll be unpacking boxes with them!
Thursday night saw us out at the airport again. Our best man and one of his children were popping down for the weekend. I only chatted to them for a short time, as their plane got in at not quite ten o'clock and I had an early start. However by all accounts they had a good weekend, and he dropped them back to the airport in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Friday I was out at the airport again. Does anyone see a pattern emerging here LOL? Annelie arrived at eight, and we spent a lovely morning wandering around Christchurch city, hopping on and off the tram and generally soaking up the sun on such a beautiful day. We enjoyed a leisurely lunch at a nice cafe (Terra Viva to the CHCH girls) before heading back to...wait for it...the airport! At this point I dropped Annelie off so she could head off to camp with Adrienne and the DT girls and I picked up Jane. Jane and I headed off to pick up Megan who had been down here working for the day and after a quick stop for dinner and supplies at the Palms mall we headed off to Kaiapoi ready for a weekend of creating, yakking and eating lol.
Camp was great, and over the weekend I'll post piccies of what I did - just finishing the journalling and embellies etc on a few of them. However there was a bit of an incident between two good friends of mine and I think they could really do with some support. You might like to email Heidi and Vicki as their friendship is rather strained at the moment and I'm sure they'd appreciate some kind words from you all.
A few people have asked about the quotes I got for the walls at home. The one in our spare/guest room says: Good friends...are hard to find, harder to leave and impossible to forget. The other one was meant for the lounge but didn't look right in there so is now in my scrap room and it says...Having somewhere to go is a home, Having someone to love is a family, Having both is a blessing.
Anyway, I have a busy day ahead with lots of bits and bobs to do and then I'm catching up with one of the girls I met at camp who is starting her own blog - so I shall also have a new bloggy friend's address to share over the weekend as well. Enjoy your Easter weekend.

You must really love that airport!! I have heard that you were a wonderful taxi driver, so good on you for being such a kind and considerate friend. I wish I had been down too so you could have also driven me around ... LOL! But seriously, I do wish I'd been at the retreat, it looked and sounded like a heap of fun.
