Meeting Darcy

So everyone meet Darcy! She is our newest family member and my Christmas/Birthday present. She arrived yesterday and has been an absolute darling. Danny thinks she's the best thing since sliced bread (or should that be since fresh steak? lol). One of the collages is of her and Dan the other is of her Mum and Granny - Mum is the white dog and Gran is more apricot in colour - and yep Viv that is a bit of poodle you see mixed in there lol. Coming to our house meant Darcy had her first car ride and that's where having Dan paid off - he sleeps in the car so she just copied him, which meant she was nice and calm. For those of you without dogs, it's not unusual for pups to throw up their first few times in a car as their little bodies aren't used to the wierd movement and often it's the first time they are away from Mum and their siblings so it's all a bit too much. Last night she slept all night in her bed at the foot of our bed (along with a snuggly soft toy which I'd wiped all over her Mum so it smelt familiar), which was great because I've mentally prepared myself for a fair whack of broken nights of sleep, so there are no complaints from me if it doesn't end up that way! Danny just loves her. Tui and her have met and it all went well but poor old Tui's still a bit unsure about having two dogs running around - give it time she'll come right. It's not bad - Tui slept in her usual place which is on our bed all night, so it's not like she won't come in or anything, but she makes sure she keeps an eye on where the two dogs are lol. The other photo is us up at Hamner Springs on New Years Eve - would you believe that this is seven at night?? Not long after that it was time to get out and find somewhere for dinner and a drink to spend the last evening of 2009 with great company. The rellies have now gone home so the house needs a good clean and the cupboards a re stock, so one guess what I'm up to today lol. We have another friend arriving on Friday night and then he is driving back up to Auckland with Donna on Monday, boy that times come around quick. And a visit to HN is on the cards as I need to get some photos printed of my new baby so that I can do some layouts. Enjoy your week.

Love the name! Love the pics! The two of them are so cute together. You might have to put her hair in curlers to get the poodle look tho, its obviously not coming through from her breeding! LOL!

welcome Darcy, she is so cute. She sounds like she has settled in quite well. I didn't know about the car and pups either. Wow at the photo at 7pm. It looked like midday.
