So I've been out truck'n with my hubby...he came home on Monday night and asked me if I was busy tomorrow...nothing I couldn't change...so off to Hastings we went. He dropped me off at Hastings Rubber Stamps at four o'clock, I picked up a couple of items, shot into Countdown and then walked back to where he was unloading the machinery off the truck. I wanted to shoot into one of the fruit stalls down there, but we were to late once we headed back, which was a shame - we could see lots of apples and cherries...yum! Back into the truck and then to Taupo for the night. Now this is for Kim - that means it's about seven hours drive (because it's a fully loaded sixty metre truck) from Auckland to Hastings and then about three and a half hours back to Taupo. Taupo is a township kind of in the middle of the North Island and is based along one side of a huge lake. Lake Taupo.
We got into Taupo about seven forty five, into a motel, off down to another motel for dinner (and it was lovley - the sun was setting over the mountains...shame it wasn't a romantic weekend away!!) and then we well and truly crashed for the night. The photo above with the lake and the mountains was my view this morning. Not bad at all really! And there is a bit of house moving NZ style! Hard to believe in this heat but I've actually managed to get a layout done, so that's on here to share as well.
Enjoy the rest of your week my friends.
We've had quite a few people through the house. Two lots are coming back for a second look tomorrow night and a woman is bringing her hubby back through on Sunday, because she's seen it and he hasn't. So keep your fingers crossed for us please!

so does your man shifts houses... wow what a full on job- we have seen them move within wellington and amazing how they can get them into the trickest places!!!
as for the house people.. I hear the best thing to encourage them is baking smells!!!! (bread a goodie)as it makes people feel at home. You will get a SALE (hows that for positive thinking)
Well that was a nice little tiki tour for you. Good luck with the viewings - sounds really promising.
Well, that was a nice little break away, I'd love to do that with my hubby more, if we didn't have the kids. Quite often we work a holiday into one of his trips, in the middle school holidays we are doing 3 weeks in the South Island (may get to call in on you if you've moved).
That white pilot vehicle is a friend of mine, does house moves all over North Island, gets around a bit.
Sounds like a fun road trip ... that Napier/Taupo road is really long and boring ... no towns to stop at and lots of road works! Hastings Rubber Stamps was good though ... did you buy lots?
Cool layout... love the neatness of it.. Mine always looks to crowded!!!
love your layout its very cool....and fingers crossed for your house ;)

Hi Trace
Thanks for the comment on my blog. When I first moved to NZ I was amazed at the 'moving houses' but now I think it is kinda awesome and just makes NZ that much more unique!

So you're a part time trucker now huh - go you!!! I'm sure Lyall enjoyed your company. And ... great that you could fit in a little shoppping as well - lol!!!
Fingers crossed!!!
How fun that you could just drop everything and go on an adventure with your hubby! I love seeing those big trucks, and I always think "it must be cool sitting up there, so high above everyone else!" ... is it??
Fingers crossed for the open homes - hope you get a sale!
Sounds like a great break away. Working hard aside I mean. LOL
Good luck with the house - I'm sure it'll move quickly once people get back to normal routines.
Love the layout. Fingers cross and hopefully your place will sell soon for you.
What a cool roadtrip with your hubby! A great way to see the country, and do a bit of shopping along the way - LOL!!
