It was a great day down in the Waikato...great company and very little scrapping accomplished (isn't that right Angela??!!)I did manage to get one whole layout finished. And about three half done. We hit the two scrapbooking shops before the crop, so I've added one or two things to my stash. And on Sunday after I had unpacked the way to much stuff that I took I started on another layout, so all is good in my little world LOL. The photos on my circle layout are of me, but don't really match the title. I couldn't really find any to go with it, and it's kind of nice to be using up some of my older photos. Hannah, maybe we could do one on our pets, I've got a million or two photos around that subject ROFL!
Thanks to all those who have asked after my sister. She has been to the Dr and is getting a bit of help and is also staying with Dad until she feels a bit better in herself. Fortunately Dad and my step Mum are both retired so they can be flexible in what they do, where they go etc, whereas I had to go back to work so couldn't be there for her as much as she needed. But still she's on the up and up and that's the main thing. The Doctor thought said it usually takes a few months to come right when you've had such a stressful knock.
Now depending on where blogger puts these photos...a friend from the Naki asked about the threading water punch and how it works. A picture is worth a thousand words, so in one photo there is a couple of arrows, they are showing the lines where your paper is actually punched. When you've punched it, slide it along so that the punched bits line up on top of the design and then punch again, and you just keep doing this until you've punched out all you want. If you end up reading this Annie, hope it helps!
We all know the weather was a bit rough...but who would have thought we'd have a starfish on our back lawn. We are close to the beach, but not close enough for starfish to be part of our usual garden furniture. Birds don't eat them, which was one way we thought it might have ended up there. And I don't think anybody close enough was fishing and it's found it's way there courtesy of a moggie...but Lyall said we did have some mighty good gusts of wind. Good enough for a boat to lose it's moorings and end up on our local island (and because Kiwi's are the master's of understatement, it's called Flat Rock), well it is a big flat Island! Must take a photo of it and show you...So what do you reckon? Can starfish fly?
The other photo's are my layout efforts for the weekend...take care all, more of the wet stuff is on it's way. And think of Mandy and I who have all those little ones inside due to the weather...LOL!

I would love to own the treading water punch - you are a lucky girl!! and yes I hear others say there is a bit of an art to learning how to use it properly - once you know it seems simple though...
LOL at the starfish but its really odd and definitely not what you would expect to find on your lawn.
The crop sounds like a lot of fun and 1 complete layout and 3 half done sounds pretty good to me.
Glad to hear you sister is on the mend and is being supported and cared for. I wondered about the starfish, how freaky is that. Love your layouts and it sounded like you had a ball.
Your creative tally at scrap camp sounds pretty good to me.
I did look at that pic and wondered what the heck it was ... I thought it must have been something fungal, never for one minute did I think star fish ... the mind boggles.
I am posting new BOM challenges on Friday Trace, so I will definitely put one about pets! Thanks for the idea :-)
The punch is great, isn't it? I found it wasn't too hard to use, especially if you use the markers on the top to line it all up ;-)
Love the layouts you got done at the crop - and very glad you had a great time!

A starfish on your lawn! That is absolutely incredible Trace!
Just shows you how violent the storm must have been. I wonder if the wind picked it up and carried it there?
The crop sounds like it was a lot of fun. Glad to hear you all had such an enjoyable day. :)
