Looksie...

I don't often do classes anymore...but I decided to do this one! It was to make this recipe box. I'm not one for doing much OTP stuff, so it was kind of fun to do something a little bit outside of the square for me. I do enjoy OTP projects, as gifts, but don't do much of them for my own home. Anyway it was fun, and now I get to full it up with recipes! I will be changing the tabbed pages though as I don't like the papers we used - I brought a few sheets of matching bazill and will redo them with that.

We are starting the countdown to our holiday now, only four weeks to go. Have to have a wee think about whether to leave Thursday night or about three in the morning on Friday, (our ferry sailing isn't until Saturday). The V8's are racing in Hamilton on Friday...they are expecting 130,000 Aucklanders to go down for them...that's a lot of traffic! We won't be going through Hamilton itself, we will turn off and head down through National Park, but we will still have to be on State Highway one for some of it...if we leave on Thursday night it means another nights accomodation costs, but then we will get a few hours in Wellington for a bit of a nosy (am thinking Lyall could drop me off at Kiwi Scraps LOL!! - well you know, I will need some reading material, and while I'm there...heee heee heee).
Am looking forward to the weekend - last year I got my SIL (Mo) addicted to scrapbooking - not quite as bad as us lot, but give her time...and she in turn got her daughter started on it (Lizzie, she's in her twenties), so they are coming out to spend Saturday, yakkin' and scrapp'n! My big plan is to get my last two BOM pages done. Then on Sunday I have a little more wallpaper to strip and then it's all done, every last bit...no more wallpaper to strip! So rewarding to see it all coming together, and with no kids, it's not stressful, as we just move from room to room and leave things out...no little fingers checking out if the paints wet - mind you the cat has!!
Thanks Jules, for your lovely RAK , very cool, did you make the little tags on your wishblade?
Have a nice end of week, my cyber friends (and you to Dad, Donna and Shae, you lurkers, who never leave comments!)

Very cool recipe box! I'm a bit like you, I don't do OTP very much unless for gifts. But I'm sure you'll use this box, it is practical and looks good.

Where are you going for your holiday? You may have already mentioned it but I obviously missed it ...

Love the recipe box - I'm with you on changing the tabs to bazzill though. Have fun filling it with recipes.

I vote for you to leave a day early on your holiday. We could arrange a meet-up at Kiwi Scraps or a place that sells coffee...

Love the box, I'm a bit like that with OTP aswell, never use them either.

Holiday sounds good, BTW Kiwiscraps caters really well to hubbies, so take him with you, mens area with mags etc, coffee/tea etc, mine was quite happy to come along.

I really do love the recipie box and it has got me thinking of an old plastic one that mum used to have and how i found it easy using recipies out of it! Might have to make one myself!

Wow, not long until your holiday! I would suggest leaving in the middle of the night. kiwiscraps open at 9am on a Saturday!

hiya! I do most of my shopping at www.yourscrappingshop.co.za. Online scrap shopping is not huge here yet. Will track down a few others for you to have a look at, must just check out where some of my mates shop. A lot of us still enjoy the thrill of a good old touch and feel shop!

ooh-oooh! I'm with Beverley on her suggestion!! Give us some idea of dates... cos I don't remember details that well! - and I will see if I can swing in on the hook-up too :)

Love that recipe box - such a great idea. I've been wanting to do something like that for ages but always have been put off by the lack of actual recipe cards to use.... the boring office ones are just too.... BORING!! (I'm happy to make the box but would like to keep it simple and just have pretty cards ready made if you know what I mean!)
