Winter is here...

With winter here the darkness rolls in pretty early around here - by about five fifteen, we are in need of torches if outside.  This means that I have to get out late afternoon and make sure everyone is fed, watered and ready for bed :-)  However on the weekends, Lyall gets a chance to do those things he enjoys, the fencing, the feeding out, giving the cows a pat and the piggies a tummy tickle.  Like most animals the cows move quick if they think there's food involved...

Yesterday morning Lyall and a couple of his mates headed off into the mountains for a bit of four wheel driving (they aren't home yet) and Murphy and his law being what it is, the calves decided they would try jumping over the back fence into the neighbours sheep paddock.  The paddock that is about twenty acres...That meant Donna and I had to try and get two calves back (one calf and one big steer stayed home), down a driveway, along the road, up our driveway, then feed them and then fix the fence.  I don't think my hubby should get anymore weekends away!!  I did tell those calves that they'll be darn tasty...little sods!

This is the frost that we woke to yesterday morning, but oh what a stunning day.  Had all the windows and doors open, got all the washing dried on the line instead of in front of the fireplace, fresh sheets on the bed...and the bed all to myself lol.  A long soak in the bath with a magazine (aye Vicki!)  Bliss.

Last weekend we started ramming in the posts for our new fences and here's me as the tractor driver - I got the easy job :-)

I've also done a bit of scrapping.  Here's a few layouts now filed in my Project Life album...

And the cover page for my mini album to take to Scrapfest...

Also last but not least, having been inspired by Vicki and her monarch butterfly photos, I to headed off in search of some...

Have a wonderful week everyone and thanks for stopping by and visiting.
