Well it's been a few weeks since I last did  a post, and much has happened since then...

Lyall had a patch where he wasn't to well, and a vist to hospital.  Much better now, but of course the computer takes a back seat when stuff like that happens.

Then we've celebrated Donna's birthday.  We had a houseful of people, with much eating, drinking and celebrating.  Of course most were from out of town, so we also did a bit of touring around as well.

I even made her a birthday cake!  Not sure where the photos of that have ended up...;-)

Last weekend Lyall and I headed off to Mt Cook for the weekend.  We've always wanted to stay at The Hermitage, and so finally we did.  We arrived to beautiful weather and left when the weather turned nasty.  In the meantime we enjoyed the very comfy lounge with it's big comfy seats, hot drinks and stunning views.

In all the times I've visited Mt Cook, I've never actually seen the peak of the mountain.  Finally, I can tick that off the 'list'.  The clouds cleared long enough for me to take a few dozen photos and then it was back to my hot chocolate :-)
Got to love a hotel in the mountains, with a roaring fire...and marshmellows ready for you to cook over it.
Lake Tekapo on the way through.

In amongst all that and the other day to day stuff that's been going on, I've managed to do one layout...

Thought Archie might get to play in the snow today, but it hasn't eventuated to anything here (yet!).  Lots on the mountains and the foothills, but none at home or at work (much to the kids dissapointment).

Have a wonderful week everyone.  And if it's cold where you are - keep toasty warm :-)

I'm sorry to hear that Lyall hasn't been well, but glad he is okay now. Your trip to Mt Cook looks stunning!! What a gorgeous place to stay. I've only been to Mt Cook once and I think I did see the peak so I am counting myself rather lucky. Might have to go back so we can stay where you did - it looks amazing!

lucky you on seeing the top of the mountain ... we didn't get to see the mountain back in October last year ... bummer really ... hopefully those prices weren't too bad at the Hermitage when you stayed there ... and that fireplace ... very inviting.
