With this cooler weather we are seeing a few of these around...
Fortunately we've never had one inside our house, but they do toddle up to where the cow or chook food is outside. A certain cat deals to them pretty quick, but I spotted this one before she did, and then after a bit of chasing and rounding up went and hid it in the garden. Not much of a farmer girl am I lol?
We shifted the cows into a new paddock this morning, and where the cows go the pigs have to come and have a nosy as well. The pigs just walk under the electric fences so pretty much have the run of the place.

If we are out in the paddock, then we have an audience. A peeved off audience who think they should be out there 'helping' as well. The cat is fine, she can keep out of harms way pretty well and knows not to get too close to the cows. The dogs of course think they are full on hunterways and can round the cows up...the cows know otherwise. You don't want a little dog to get too close to a cows hooves. So they can stay and watch from a distance. It's a hard life being a dog ;-)
We've had social weekend this long weekend. Our new neighbours threw a housewarming/fortieth birthday party, with a marquee, dance floor, catering and the whole works. It was great getting to know them better (they only shifted in a few weeks ago), as well as catching up with a couple of other neighbours as well. Donna and I toddled home at a reasonable hour of the evening, whereas hubby rolled in sometime after three am, because, according to him, he was getting cold LOL. I think I was a teenager when I last stayed up till three am. Sad but true LOL. We also had dinner out with our old neighbours from Beachlands (in Auckland) who as you know, shifted down here and live just up the road.
Another week has passed in the Scrappin Patch stars in their eyes competition, and here's my entry, that I'm rather chuffed to say, won for the week.
Enjoy your short week people. Wrap up warm. As Vicki told me when we dog wwalked last week and I was in shorts..."don't you know it's the first day of winter" LOL.

Not sure I could do a 3am bedtime now - Rob & I used to do that all the time when we were dating and I still lived at home, but I seriously couldn't cope now!
That mouse is very cute but I dare say it wouldn't be so cute inside the house - hopefully they stay outside!
Ewww at that first pic ... enough to give me nightmares! Now ... I'm picking you weren't wearing shorts today?! And so pleased you picked up the win with that layout ... it's a fabulous one.
