"My Dad said it's gonna snow." "No, MY Dad said it's gonna snow." "MY Dad, said it isn't gonna snow, they don't know what they're talking about." LOL.
I wonder if they realised just how widespread the snow was? With the first few bigger shakes they were suprised to find out that 'everyone' felt them - they thought they were only feeling them at their house. Of course their experiences of this has changed as they've felt them out shopping, at kindergarten and all sorts of other places, but their experiences of snow are quite limited. Some of them won't remember the snow last year...
Anyway I headed to work Wednesday morning as it was snowing, only to get there and then get the text from head office to say we were closed for the day. I happily found things to do (work on my work laptop for a start), and take the dogs for a run before too much snow set in. Lyall got sent home from work about eleven and headed into Donna's house to do some sanding. A few hours later we lost power. Apart from the obvious stuff we use power for our water pump and our waste system. Not too much of a biggie as we can bucket water out of a water tank. However Lyall had been sanding. He came in to see if we'd tripped a switch, only to find out the power cut was a little wider than that. He then had to try and clean himself off, of gib dust...with a little bowl of water...in the cold...LOL.
We threw on the gas camp cooker and whipped up some canned food for dinner and then spent a couple of hours playing games by torch light before hitting the sack at the ripe old hour of seven thirty. Covered in extra blankets, with the dogs covered in extra blankets too. Of course if you are going to lose power, it's a really good idea to do it on the coldest night on record. If your going to do something, do it properly LOL! (We got power on at around one thirty the next day - it was minus six point seven when we got out of bed Brrrrrr!)
While snow may be wet, cold and a pain in the proverbial, (especially when you have stock that have to be fed, so you have to go out in it), it is also something of such amazing beauty. Often we would just stand and stare in wonder at the sight of it falling and watching the changing landscape.

These two love it...

As the snow fell...(Wednesday)

The next day (Thursday)

You would have some pretty spectacular views of the mountains from your place too at the moment. Better get that fire in before the next lot of snow. LOL

Eeek! Not good to hear you lost power for that long! Brrrr! Hope next week is a little less eventful:)
Stunning photos Trace. Great LO too. You have a good week too.
Very pretty ... but not so nice when you don't have power. And good on you getting this weeks entry in already ... mine's still a work in progress.
Brrrrr. What a freezing night you had. Your pics are fantastic though. Good scrapping topic too. Good luck with your Scrapping Patch Page - looks great. Hope this week is warmer and you don't get another dose of snow.
Great photos of the snow, the dogs really do seem to love it! I wonder if Buddy would like snow? He's obviously never seen it before! I think he'd be too cold, actually. He doesn't even like going outside when it's raining. I'm always very grateful for our fireplace when we lose power in winter, especially considering all the restrictions they are placing on having them now! It must have been pretty cold for you guys without heat and power!
fabbo snow pics ... way too cold though ... don't you be so hard on yourself ... fabulous creativity.
