June the 17th...

You know how you have 'those' shoes that you just love to death. You keep on wearing them even though they've seen better days (many better days lol). I have a pair of boots that fit into that catergory and with the wet weather/melting snow, it was time to retire them, as my socks were getting wet... So yesterday we headed out and with no trouble at all, found a new pair I liked and brought them. Bang, done and dusted. Donna then decided she needed a new pair as well. We looked and tried on it lots of shops, before heading to a shoe shop not too far from home (at the Kaiapoi Mill for you local girls).

While she was trying on boots there I thought I'd have a wee look at the warm, fluffy, comfy slippers. I think I've owned two pairs of slippers in my entire life, not really a huge fan of them. As I was trying them on, the lady who works there, said in a very knowing voice..."you won't take those off once you've had your feet in them..."lol. She's dead right. I'm so in love. If they weren't so big I'd even sleep in them!

Now if only I had a nice warm fireplace to put my feet up in front of!

In scrappy news, I produced this for last weeks stars in their eyes competition. I don't like it lol. But it's made me more determined to do more off the page sort of work so that I can get my head around how to make it all fit together. Might even do some classes along those lines.

Nearly school holidays time. I have one of my best friends and her son (who is our Godson) coming down. He hasn't seen snow before and can't wait, wonder if we'll get another snow storm that week? That would impress him no end LOL (until he got too cold to play in it that is!). And their visit will cross over with my darling nephew (whose birthday it is today - did you remember that Dad!!) and his gorgeous partner, who are hoping to arrive middle of the first week and leave middle of the second week - but they fly standby thanks to him being an engineer for Air New Zealand, so it depends on what flights they can get on. Can't wait to see them all!

Have a fab week people.

The slippers look very cosy - I could do with a new pair myself:) I like your OTP project - the wee houses were very cute! More snow may well be on the cards going by the chill in the air!!brrrr...

Not a slipper fan either but its getting cold enough to definitely start thinking about a pair of them. LOL. Your holidays are going to fly by and hope your young visitor gets his snow. As for me, I'm over it now. LOL

Wonderful slipper pics - you will love them. I recently renewed mine to a similar pair after having 'Woollies' boots for the past 9 years. Wasn't too sure about the fluffy tops for a start but have got used to them now.
Not sure why you do not like your OTP project. I think it looks great. Love the black and white and little houses. Have a great week.

Hooray for new boots and new slippers! I love my ugg boots and would wear them everywhere if I was allowed to. I *try* to keep them for inside only, but sometimes I'm tempted to wear them out to the shops or something. Hehe!
