On New Years Eve Dad arrived down here and we got him busy working...He also had friends over to visit, which is always great. He also had to have nana naps because he'd worked so hard - took the photos, but he might shoot me if I put one on here LOL.
Unlike the poor old North Island our summer has so far been hot and dry. This means this wee girl has spent a lot of time like this...
This is what's growing in the garden at the moment...
The peas have yet to make it to a pot of water - they get eaten straight off the vine and then the piggies make short work of the pods. The birds are starting to get to the last of the cherries, so the chickens and pigs have been getting any that are split or been munched on. I swear those pigs would do anything for a cherry lol.
A few months ago my aunt and uncle came and stayed and while here they of course had a look through some of my scrapbooking albums. They thought I would like the old family photos they had, as they are just sitting in a cupboard at their house and their two adult children aren't interested in them. Of course I was rapt. As well as the stack of single photos, there are four sheets of proofs of my Mum and Dad's wedding - these are only wedding photos I've ever seen of them. Dad is taking them back up to Auckland with him to see if they can be put onto disc somehow and then I can play with them a bit before getting them printed. Talk about a treasure.
Last month on the NZ Paperchase blog we had to be messy. I don't do messy, but I had fun doing lots of art techiques. Here is my take:
There's lots been happening in my neck of the woods, but lots of it involves jobs around the house - so satisfying to get them done. For those of you on FB with me - here are those bales lol.
Have a great week everyone.

How special for you to get those old family photos - I am sure we will see them (or copies of them!) on future layouts. Definitely a treasure.
I'm glad somebody I know is having a nice hot summer, because we sure aren't getting one up here!
Hope you had a lovely birthday :-)
Well what can I say? Hope you had a fab birthday? Duh! Big hugs:) I am so losing the plot! Hows Donnas place looking now? I know just what you mean about getting stuff done around home - I just have so much I wanna do - but I'm kinda thinking maybe I should entertain my kids a bit??
Do you want to do my old family photos? Mum dumped them(I mean, gave them to me to carefully store!)on me about 3/4years ago, and they are still crammed in a corner...no rush aye? ummmm...maybe I should get them off the floor before the house falls down though...
Love looking at your photos. Glad too that someone is have a 'proper' summer!
Happy New Year Trace, Thanks for the xmas card. What a wonderful few weeks you have had, your piggies are so cute. How is Donna's house looking now? How many bales of hay did you get.
