So this is what's been happening in my world...

Damn dogs. We went down to a local river bed to give them a run yesterday (most of the river has dried up). And they found something disgusting. So they ate it. Then they needed a bath. Damn dogs lol! Wandering down the river bed, Lyall decided to go back and get my 4wd so he could come back down, pick us up and we could go for a bit of offroading, so Donna and I kept walking along with the dogs while he did that. Then we came to a patch where there were heaps of little dead fish, so we figured there must have been water in that patch not too long ago. Anyway, Lyall came down to find us, with another 4wd following him - they stopped and had a chat and since they knew the way we followed them. Glad they went first. They got stuck, we had to tow them out lol. Could just have easily been us.

Today we toddled off to the anuual Swannanoa Fair (Janine and Beverley you would have liked this!) It's really well supported by the local community - it's a school fundrasier. Very well organised and plenty to see, do, buy and eat. Last year they had eight thousand people through the gates by the end of the day, and I'm picking with such a nice day they will be hitting that mark again. With a gold coin donation to get in that's a fair whack to make just on the gate, let alone from stallholders and the actual stalls that the school themselves run (like some of the food, the white elephant etc). We ended up buying mainly food items - things like sauces, jams and chutneys.

This Saturday and Sunday night the Lantern Festival is on in Christchurch. So we went on Friday night. Should have listened to Vicki eh lol! However the lanters were still lit up just that the stalls weren't on. It was still a nice night out and town was really busy and fun to be in. Earlier in the day I caught up with Vicki and Hedi for a spot of scrapping and as you can see in the photo, Heidi enlisted some help in choosing photos...Lucky he helped out on Friday and not Saturday - disgusting dogs lol.

And to my darling wee Godson - happy birthday for Wednesday Brody - hope you like the big box of lego from Uncle Lyall and Aunty Trace!

And Nicki there's some PL photos just for you my friend lol.

love the new look blog border - tres cool! That is a cute pic of Danny and us - heehee! and let me tell you, I wish I had followed your lead and gone to the Lantern Fest friday nite - we went Saturday and it was PACKED, and very unpleasant IMO, and you could hardly see anything, let alone the displays, past all the crowds. The stalls were mostly just selling plastic junk anyways, but Ashlee did buy some treasures, and the kids both bought Chinese dragons and Lions which were very authentic and detailed.

Yep, dogs will be dogs. LOL. I think you need a new car sooner rather than later with all this 4WD'ing going on. Lantern Festival for us tonight.
