I love living on these long skinny islands, as it means the weather changes constantly. The storm that hammered those living in Wellington on Friday, gave the mountains a dusting as it whizzed through Canterbury. This meant the heat pump was changed for air conditioning to warmth...and then on Saturday we changed it back to air conditioning as the day heated up to 31 and the snow dissappeared. Watching the weather tonight, I see that we have a nice sunny day with a high in the twenties expected for tomorrow, followed by plummeting temperatures, snow flurries on the mountains and single digit lows lol. So if you are coming down for the retreat next weekend, may I suggest you bring a bikini and thermals!

The other photo...Beverley took this, and I just love it, such a neat photo. Lucky Harvey Norman had half price enlargements...just have to decide whether to frame it, or scrap it...or maybe both lol.

This afternoon the two mad dogs were chasing each other around when there was severe yelping coming from mine. My first thought was that she'd been stung by a bee, but once I calmed her down I could see that this wasn't the case. Placing her back on the floor she hobbled off as fast as she could on three legs, yelping like a truck had hit her. So up to the vet, as fast as I could go (no, no, of course I didn't break the speed limit....lol). They suspect she has torn a shoulder muscle, so a couple of jabs later and I have a very sad, sore puppy, who won't eat dinner and is just curled up quietly in her bed. We have to go back to the vet first thing in the morning to check up on it again and then some quiet days at home for the next couple of weeks. We will have to split the two of them up for convalesence to occur, I'm thinking. And Tui the cat, has a kidney infection and is on antibiotics. I guess we are helping to keep the vet in business lol.

Did you see Jetstar have cheap flights from Auckland to Christchurch? So the Swannanoa retreat is getting well and truly booked up! Love that.

Enjoy your week.
