The zoo...

Part of my job involves going on trips with the kids - the zoo being a popular one, albeit a bit rushed, as we have to get there and back in a morning. However for Lyall and my Dad it's been many years since they went, so yesterday we decided to go for the day...and it was nice. Nice to wander around and not be responsible for a whole bunch of children and adults. Nice to just take photos and take time. To be able to sit and enjoy lunch. Enjoy my Dad's and my hubbies company. I told the giraffes that Mandy and Tanya said hello...and they said hello back, I'm sure!

I started the day with getting my photos printed for the retreat, only to get home and find what we needed has changed, oh well, back to HN's for a few more LOL. Also my darling Dad, shouted me Photoshop, so once I'm off here and I've mowed the lawns, I shall load that on and play...I have a couple of days off, because this weekend just gone, was meant to be the weekend when we shifted so I wanted a couple of days off to settle in Milo and Tui. However that happened last weekend instead, so Lyall took off Monday and Tuesday, and he's glad he did, as it meant he got to spend those last couple of days with Milo. So I shall hang around home, scrapbooking, on the computer and just general lazing about LOL..and tomorrow I shall visit the vets to pick up Milo's ashes, and to take them some morning tea, and then off to HN's to get those photos printed...I think I could get used to four day weekends...LOL.

Sounds like a lovely day out without all the stress of supervising lots of kids. Enjoy your days off - I like my 7 day weekends too! Perhaps you should try that for a while! ROFL

Sounds like a great day out in some great company. Yippppeee for a dad that shouts ya photoshop. Sounds like you are very organised for the retreat. Just think when you move you may be able to work less hours? Love that necklace your friend made.

Love the zoo ... experiencing it without kids is a whole different kind of fun. Lucky you getting photoshop ... you may just need more time off work to play ... but don't go completely digi ... I like your paper scrapping too much ... or maybe if you do ... I could give your supplies a good home. ;o)

Hi Trace

Can your dad buy me Photoshop too? Just kidding. What a darling dad you have :)

Akld Zoo is cool now! LOL, we lived in a street in Pt Chev. for a few years that had a wee bridge at the end that went over to Motions Road (the zoo road). We could hear the monkeys at night time.

LOL, at first when we bought that house I thought we had a neighbour who had a loud hysterical laugh who was watching late night comedy on TV. Took a few days to work out what it actually was - the monkeys.

When they moved them into the new (now a few years old) rainforest enclosure they went crazy for a couple of weeks. Guess we would too if we'd been in a cage for years then suddenly got a new home like the rainforest.

Your photos look fab too!

Glad that you have some time off work for some self care. Have been thinking of you and Lyall and Tui and Milo. :)

I haven't been to a zoo for years... sounds like you had a really nice time. What you gonna do with Milo? We've got Bruno sitting on the shelf for now, in a little rimu box. Gav is a bit worried we're going to end up with a shelf full of pets in boxes!
