The wedding...

It's been a busy few weeks.

As you know, these last couple of weeks have seen us off travelling.

We headed up to Wellington and while the sailing was a little bumpy, we've had worse, and as you only spend about an hour out in the strait, that time flew quick and before we knew it we were tucked up in our motel room and they had kindly put the heater on for us so it was lovely and toasty warm.

We stopped and shopped at Otaki, where there are quite a few fashion outlet stores...and didn't end up buying anything.  Most disappointing as it's one of those places I'd always wanted to stop at but had always gone through in the evening when everything was shut.  When we got to Auckland we then caught up my family/friends and had dinner out together.

Saturday arrived and while a little overcast the weather held off.  Sorry this is underlined, blogger is doing some weird thing...
As you can see the bride looked stunning and the groom looked handsome.
A wonderful day and evening was had by all.

It truly was a magical day.  The speeches made you teary eyed one minute and laughing the next ;-)
They had chosen this date as it was their tenth anniversary. This was the day they first started going out together as thirteen year olds and while they've been together ever since, they've also travelled together and alone, both done degrees in their chosen subjects, and trust each other implicitly.   They've just spent a few days in Queenstown (a mini moon they called it!) and are off to Israel for their honeymoon in July.

We also caught up with my hubbies side of our family.  The wee cherub holding the balloon was over from Perth for her first birthday.  She is our nieces wee girl and the other two cuties in the photo belong to our other niece, who lives in Auckland.  You can tell all those boys are related can't you!

With a spare hour we quickly caught up with my two cousins and their kids.  As I wasn't going to get to their houses, we met at a park, but it really was a quick catch up!  There wasn't a night where we weren't in bed before eleven, which is late for me!

On the way back home we spent a lovely couple of nights with our friend Annette.  Annie was one of my two bridesmaids and was the one who got me into scrapbooking.  Like us, she lives on a lifestyle block (in Taranaki) and has three dogs (it was great to have some doggie cuddles, we were missing ours!).  Then it was a smooth sailing home...

We shopped.  We caught up heaps of people.  We did the odd detour so I could visit a scrappy shop or three... Lyall got given heaps of DVD's by his brother.  We towed a trailer home for a friend in Christchurch (we were tempted to fill it up with purchases...lol)

Apparently our next holiday is at home...there was too much to do when we went on holiday LOL.

A fantastic recount of a special holiday filled with memories and wonderful photos (can see they would make great scrapping subjects)
