First week of the holidays

Oh the joys of school holidays.  Not so much sleep in's when you have the range of animals we do, but you can get a bit of scrapping done during the day, which feels just a little bit decadent.

Three layouts done.  One SNAP album finished, and a mini album started.  Of course there's also the much needed time checking things out on the internet...and talking to friends on there to!

Over the years we've had a few pet dogs in our family and there were a few photos of them all so I decided to make a SNAP album of them.  Nice to get those photos into an album with a bit of journaling, as they aren't likely to be photos that I'd end up using on a layout.

Hmmm weird ole bloggr has elongated my layouts!  But they are actually 12x12's so I guess you'll just have to use your imagination somewhat!  The one above is of my nana marrying the man we fondly called Uncle Harry.  My Grandad had died many years earlier and Nana found love again later in life with this wonderful man.

I had a few polaroid frames that funnily enough I'd brought at Kmart of all places.  And in my never ending quest to actually use my stash, I pulled these out and did this layout.

This is another layout featuring my Nana, along with my two Great Grandma's.  The little one in the middle passed away one Christmas Day.  Funny what sticks in your memory.  It also meant I got to use a Prima vine...that's been sitting around for a couple of years now I think :-)

Over Easter we've had the most adorable visitors.  My cousin, her hubby and their two children came for a visit.  Whenever here, Helene likes to do something crafty (apparently it's all she talks about when she knows she's coming to our house lol), so I got her busy with a canvas, paints and buttons.  Young Finlay wanted to pinch the buttons so I gave him a container or three and he was happy for about as long as you can expect a toddler to be happy, pouring them out and putting them back in.  They also made their own pizzas (in Finlay's case it was 'one for the pizza, three for me...' lol).

I think my dogs were a tad exhausted after all the extra love and attention!

In sad news, well sad for me, my lovely rooster Charlie had to be put down today.  He was no longer able to stand up.  Quite happy for me to hand feed him and carry him outside but that's no life for a proud and gorgeous roo, so off to the vets today.  The vet couldn't quite believe the size of him, he was a big lad alright, and not many roo's get to live to the ripe old age of four.  They are usually killed at birth or might get one season breeding.

Have a wonderful week everyone.
