Thought I would jump on here early just in case we lose power this afternoon once the predicted snow comes a visiting. Down here in Canterbury schools and early childhood centres have what are called snow days. Basically it means that if the powers that be decide it's too dangerous to be open (this might mean roads are not suitable for travel etc) then we will be closed. The trouble is the worst of this weather is not predicted to hit till Monday/Tuesday, so we may end up going to work, then having to shut early and then try and get home in the snow, and considering they are saying it will be 'bizzard' conditions, that's not going to be fun. I kind of wish they would err on the side of caution and just say "based on what we know...we'll shut". I know that won't happen because weather is so changeable (especially when you live on two long skinny islands!).
Last week I was up at Rangiora and had just pulled into a parking space, when a lady stopped me and asked about Darcy. Long story short, she thought that she may well have one of Darcy's siblings. So yesterday we met up. Darcy and Meg are so alike - yes they look similar, but all their mannerisms are the same, pretty funny really! More ironic is they only live about ten minutes from us. Considering we got the girls from the other side of Christchurch how funny that they end up living so close. We will certainly be catching up again.
Darcy is the more apricot/darker coloured one - Meg is fluffier.
Well off to do some running around. Have a great week everyone.

as for this snow....i wonder if it does come for us,...to sea level as they have told us!!! only ever snowed in wgtn twice in my life time!!!!
fingers crossed you are given the day off tomorrow then!!!
Its a small world all right. Did they get on? We have brilliant sunshine at the moment so guess we are all taking the wait and see approach for the snow forecast.
Cute! Surely one blizzard is enough for the year - but then we like to make sure we do things thoroughly down here!
Oh wow, they do look really alike! Cuteness doubled! :-)
awww to be honest if you hadn't told me who was who I would have had trouble telling Meg and Darcy apart. What a small world though. Logically it would make sense to be cautious when it comes to snow. Hope you don't have to go to school in this blizzard like weather.
aren't they wee cuties ... OMG it's a small world.
