A few weeks ago my sister headed to Auckland to live. She had a job sorted and was staying with Dad until we sold our house and came up too. On Thursday she arrived back in Christchurch. She missed us and her dog just a little bit too much. Don't ask what we are doing now. We don't know lol. But we have a roof over our heads. We have food in the cupboards. There are plenty of jobs for Donna and I if need be. So it's no major drama...Anyway Dad drove down with Donna and suggested I drive back with him. Tomorrow I'm off to Auckland and on Sunday I catch the train back to Wellington and Mondy the ferry and train to Christchurch. Now that's what I call a road trip. And thanks Dad...he's shouting the train and ferry. Looking forward to doing a road trip with my Dad. And taking a few hundred photos...
Of course with Dad here we had an excuse to get out and about a bit. So we toddled off to the beautiful Akaroa - it reminded us a lot of where we used to live at Beachlands. We wandered around and sat and soaked in the views and the lovely salty sea smell. People cuddled my dog - aren't puppies always a popular attraction lol. Darcy saw her first seagull much to our amusement. We ate fish and chips for lunch. Bliss. We also visited the dog park and the beach (both firsts for Darcy). Dad was rather taken with the dog park. Of course all this running around necessitated the odd taking of refreshments in the odd garden bar...(and the odd sleep in the sun while the son-in-law mowed the lawns lol.)
Before Dad and Donna arrived I relieved for a day at a kindergarten, packed boxes, caught up with Gaye (which we will do again soon, because with two dogs and two kids it was kind of madness lol!) and even managed to scrapbook. Thought I'd better put evidence of said scrapbooking on here just to prove it still exists lol. Really, it's not that I just buy the products ROFL!
Enjoy your week.
