While a part of you is glad to be home (there's just something about your own, comfy bed LOL! and of course the 'kids' and family). Another part of you, wishes it was just a bit longer. As we came into Hamilton, the mugginess started to hit, and Lyall said "do you think we should turn left...(head back South...). No, I want to come home and see my cat and dog thanks!!
Anyway, it was a great trip, we are back a day early as when we got into Picton on Sunday about lunchtime (we were meant to be on the ferry Monday morning), there was talk about bad weather coming and cancellations etc...so we went and asked if we could swap to any sailing on Sunday instead, yep, no trouble she replied and popped us on the next boat...along with 1650 people - who would have thought that there would be that many people travelling?? So I'm up on the top deck admiring the Sounds as we sailed out (one guess where Lyall was, yep the bar!) and I hear this...Trace, Tracey...lo and behold it was friends from Beachlands, talk about a small world! So that made the trip go pretty fast.
Highlights, apart from the fantastic scenery of course, were meeting up with some of the girls. I was lucky enough to catch up with Beverley and Janine in Wellington and also got to meet Kelly for the first time, and of course a little retail therapy from Kiwi Scraps. I was good, it was only a few things that I purchased... and then Tanya Leigh drove out to Woodend to drop off something for me to deliver to Michelle, so although it was short and sweet, at least we got to meet! And there was a scrapbooking shop there, so I had to stop there on the way back up the island...(it was shut on the way down). In Invers, I met the wonderful Mrs Frizz, who warmly welcomed me into her lovely new home and onto her 'puter! Awesome house Michelle, and I still can't believe how many prima's you have LOL! A bit of shopping at Miss Megs and then out for dessert with Lee (thanks for driving all that way!), Sue, Julie and Meg. It was great to meet you all. Thanks to Meg we found a subdivison we really like, and the agent phoned us yesterday and is meant to be emailing through the prices of each block (the real estate company gave us a ball park figure but didn't have the price for each one when we popped in). My only worry is they do have a body corp fee as there is shared amenities like a tractor, tennis court etc, and I want to know a bit more about this. Once we've settled back in and I've got a few things done (the washing...) then I'll read through the covenants properley - there's about 40 pages of them...!
Now it was hard to choose what photos to put on the blog, so I'll drip feed a few of my favourites over the next few days! Hope you enjoy them...I'm off to catch up on the SE forum and all your blogs now!
The pod of Dusy dolphins - that we saw on the way over...
