I've been home with a head cold for the last couple of days (it was at it's worst on the weekend which saw me in bed at 6.30 on Saturday night lol), but am well on the road to recovery and will be back at work tomorrow. Teaching isn't a job you can go to and take it easy if your not well - it's all or nothing. Nor is it a good idea to be going and spreading germs either...So with me being home, I toddled out to the letterbox this afternoon and decided my camera needed some fresh air too (especially if the wild weather that's predicted hits us) and captured these shots of spring heralding it's arrival on our fruit trees.
I finished these two layouts over the weekend - the one of me is using one of Neen's latest offerings (see the kit link in my sidebar) and I'm bummed that I used a pen with a wide nib to journal, but oh well what's done is done and I don't have the energy or the inclination to do anything different lol. The other one is an out and out scraplift from the front of 'Get Creative with type' book - it was sitting there in full view so that made for an easy lift - again little energy expended lol. Can you tell I was sick???
Danny is off having a little operation today so that he can't be a Daddy...so I thought I'd capture some photos of my girl sleeping. She's been enjoying our warmer temperatures (the weather station said it was 28 degrees outside about an hour ago) and has been finding comfy spots in the sun to sleep after hunting for insects outside - she's a bit lost with no 'brother' to play with today. On that note, part of our family is off on a big adventure at the end of the year and we are going to be taking on their dog - a wee maltese x bichon - but they have a few acres so he's used to sheep, pigs, cats etc. They are hoping that whoever rents their property will take on their farm animals and two cats as they don't really want to uproot them.
Right, back to my spot on the couch lol...

So those trees aren't dead then! LOL. Brody wee op is in a couple of weeks. Good that Danny will have a wee friend to run around as can imagine Tui not initially taking to the new addition. LOL
Glad to hear you're feeling better. Cool copious use of lettering on that first LO. Read your journalling on the LO of you, and had a laugh. Love cats paws and have a few snaps of them myself.
Neat layouts, that's a really unique way of using up Thickers, looks very cool.
Sorry to hear you've been sick, but glad you are recovering and I hope you feel 100% again soon.
You poor thing Trace, hope you are feeling better soon. Poor Danny wont be very happy with you when he gets home!
glad that you are starting to feel a bit better... as for teaching when sick... you are SO right!!! you can go in !!!!
love the layouts... will have a look at those kits now
Hey Trace, hope you feel better soon! Love the photos you've taken. And in that first LO have you used a heap of thickers alpha? Cool!
So does that mean they had to get a reliever for the reliever? Sorry you're not feeling well. Doing a catch up on your blog ... I'm loving all the layouts, you are an inspiration and I may have to scrap lift ...!
Nice l/os and love the kitty in the sun photo! Our one has taken to sleeping in the laundry hamper so I had to take photos of that!
Aww you will have to give Mr Danny big cuddles from me, poor little guy he will be outa sorts for a little bit :) I love that layout of you and it is a really pretty photo too and so glad to hear you are feeling better - that bug going around at the moment is rather nasty xox
What a nifty idea to use your excess letters up in this way. Looks so effective.
Your blossoms can't be too far away. Have been seeing them here and there up this way for the past couple of weeks at least.
Get well soon :) :)
I hope Danny has recovered from his wee op. Love the random things about you layout. Trace you live in a gorgeous part of the country, liking the photos of spring hearalding its arrival in your neck of the woods.
Ugh at being sick, you have had a rough time of it. Glad your feeling better now. I hope your first day back went well.
Head colds are the most ghastly things ever invented - why do they have to make you feel so rotten?!
Looks like you have been creating madly (I've only just caught up with your other posts), can't make up my mind which I like the most , I love them all.
I hope Danny is running around as nothing has changed - unlike my Dougal who decided to rip out all is stitches despite the bucket on his head!
