When you drive across Arthurs Pass there are a few great stops to be had, however most times you are heading from one side of the island to the other, so don't tend to make those stops. Lucky for us, the start to Arthurs Pass is only about forty minutes from home (Porters Pass) and so we decided to head on up and make our way to one of those lovely spots.
Castle Hill is a heap of big rocks, that make for interesting wandering. Apparently in day's gone by it was a stopover point where Maori would camp in the caves, when travelling. While we didn't find any, there is meant to be some neat rock art up there as well. There are a heck of a lot of rocks to search LOL. Anyway, we wandered around, cameras in hand, picnic in the car ready for lunch and had a lovely morning out.
Scrapbooking wise I'm still muddling along on my dogs album - this is a mini album with photos and journalling about the dogs we've had over the years. Quite a few terrible photos from days of film cameras so quite a challenge it make it all work together, but getting there. Really looking forward to getting it finished as I'm not starting anything else until it's done :-) However Project Life is still humming away in the background and here is some of that:
When scrapping at home I usually use good old double sided tissue tape, but when going on classes etc I use my tape runner as it's super quick. The tape runner that I love is made by Herma, and the refills have got increasingly difficult to source in NZ. They used to stock them at SU, ten dollars a refill and then ten dollars to get them posted, so I'd buy a few at a time. So this week I did a bit of searching and found that EK Success market them and the refills are four dollars each - forty five NZ dollars later and I'm having ten sent out to me - can't ask for better than that! And in other US shopping news, Paper Bakery were having a special where you got free postage anywhere in the world if you purchased three or more of their flair buttons (basically a badge with no pin at the back so easy to adhere onto layouts). Mine arrived quicker than my NZ purchases ever do, which is kind of crazy...
Right, that's enough from me today. Have a great week everyone. Last week of term. Yipeeeee!!!!
