What a lovely weekend we've just had...Friday night saw us head up to Hanmer Springs as we were heading off with the four wheel drive club, through Molesworth Station. You can only get through this high country station for a few months over summer and early autumn, after that the risk of snow becomes to high and so the roads are closed from April. The day ended at Blenheim, where we spent the night, hit the Farmers market this morning, and then wandered down the coast home. Some of our club were heading up to a spot near Nelson and four wheel driving through another station back to Hanmer and then back to Christchurch about eleven hours drving. That would have made to longer a day for us, with having work tomorrow lol.
Here's a layout for Scrappin Patch.
Right, off to do the weekends washing and ironing...

sounds like you have had an exciting weekend :-) Love the layout to - go you!
Yeh! We went through Molesworth years ago on a motorbike, even camped a night near the cob house. Then we rode back from Hanmer through Rainbow station which is next door, and that was spectacular too!
PS Riley had a haircut today, he's looking particularly gorgeous!
What a fantastic trip that would have been. Its on my list - do I need a 4 WD cos that could go on the list too. ROFL.
Sounds like a great weekend, Trace! I didn't know about Molesworth but it sounds and looks like an amazing place to visit. Extra special that it can only be done at certain times of the year :-)
wow you definitely saw some countryside ... and put a few kms on the clock ...
Wow Im pleased you got to take this trip, it is amazing we went when our kids were younger. Seeing your pics brought back those memories, must hunt out the photos and do a LO..Cant help wondering if a four wheel drive group i passed on the way home last week may have been the stayers from your trek?
